WHAT IS THE "THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS"?

"DAY OF THE LORD" / THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST is God's Divine Intervention to save His people:  Man is indeed rushing to his ruin, but God does not will it: "Come back to Me and be safe all you ends of the earth..." (Isaias 45:21-26).

"I will lead all nations into the Valley of Josephat and there I will plead for My people and My inheritance, Israel...Nations, nations  in the Valley of Destruction" (Joel 3)l  The Valley of Josephat is not a place but a symbolism of a like work of God's power and love as in 2 Cronicles 20:  All the nations have come up to destroy God's people.  Josephat calls his people to prayer and fasting.  A prophet rises up, "Do not fear, the work is not yours but God's".  So, Josephat with his tiny army goes out to meet the vast foe singing psalms and hymns.  In the meantime the Moabites begin to fight with the Edomites and the Edomites begin to fight with the Syrians and they destroy each other.  When Josephat gets to the top of the mountain, he looks down and sees the slain before him and goes down and takes their spoil.   He then calls it the Valley of Blessing. 

  "And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord shall strike all nations that have fought against His people:  The flesh of everyone shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth" - ATOMIC WAR.  (See  also Apocalypse 6:15-17 which is the cross-reference code to Our Lord's words to the weeping women of Luke 23:29-31, a direct symbolism of Atomic War and the result of abortion)     

"Go, My people, enter into thy chambers, shut thy doors upon thee, hide thyself a little for a moment, until the indignation pass away.  For  behold the Lord will come out of His place, to visit the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth against him: and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall cover her slain no more." (Issaias 26:20 -21)

"It shall come to pass in that day, that there shall be no light, but cold and frost.  And there shall be one day, which is known to the Lord, not day nor night: and in the time of the evening there shall be light.  And it shall come to pass in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem...And the Lord shall be king over all the earth.  There shall be one Lord and His Name shall be one...and all that shall be left of all nations that came against Jerusalem, shall go up from year to year to adore the King, the Lord of hosts.

THE SUN SHALL BE DARKEN:  "Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be moved:  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven:  And then shall all tribes of the earth mourn...and He shall send His angels with a great voice: and they shall gather together his elect..." (Matt:24:29-31)

THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS are spoken of by Anna Maria Taigi who was beatified in 1920.  Her holiness and experiences have been accepted and believed by the Church:  "God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth.  The other will be sent from Heaven.  There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights.  Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion.  It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles.  He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot.  During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the rosary and beg God for mercy...All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert.  The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms.  Religion shall be persecuted, and priests massacred.  Churches shall be closed, but only for a short time.  The Holy Father shall be obliged to leave Rome..."
